Lohmann Brown is a very calm bird that is an excellent layer of darker brown eggs. Under good management and the proper nutrition, Lohmann Browns are capable of peak production of 94-96% and they can produce 1 lb of eggs with 2.15-2.25 lbs of feed. Lohmann Browns are very similar to ISA Browns being they are also a cross between a Rhode Island White female and a Rhode Island Red male. In the event of a hatching egg supply issue, Lohmann Browns may be substituted with Hy-Line Browns.
